About toilet paper and tree

Save tree with toilet paper

Toilet paper
One tree produces about 100 pounds (45 kg) of toilet paper. The average roll weighs 227 grams, including the cardboard core tube. This is just over half of a pound!

I just bought something which almost everyone use. At least sometimes. Toilet paper. Yeah, I know. What about toilet paper is so important that she needs to write it here.

What did I found on plastic wrap of toilet paper:

1 ton of recycled paper saves:

17 mature trees

4.100 kW/h of electricity

2.3 mof water

320 liters of oil of water

Source: US Environmental Protection Agency – my source plastic wrap of Toilet paper

So how many trees would make a ton of paper?

1 ton of paper = 400 reams = 200,000 sheets of papers

1 tree makes 16.67 reams of copy paper or 8,333 sheets

1 ream (500 sheets) uses 6% of a tree

SOME TYPICAL CALCULATIONS

There is difference in paper. Some are made of more recycled paper, some with more coal.

Here are some examples:

recycling and save the tree
1 ream (500 sheets) uses 6% of a tree

1 ton of non-recycled printing and office paper uses 24 trees

1 ton of 100% virgin (non-recycled) newsprint uses 12 trees

A “pallet” of copier paper (20-lb. sheet weight, or 20#) contains 40 cartons and weighs 1 ton. Thus, so

1 carton (10 reams) of 100% virgin copier paper uses .6 trees

1 tree makes 16.67 reams of copy paper or 8,333.3 sheetsX

1 ream (500 sheets) uses 6% of a tree

1 ton of coated, used for magazines like National Geographic and many others, uses a more than 15 trees (15.36)

1 ton of coated, used for news magazines and most catalogs, uses almost 8 trees (7.68)

How do you calculate how many trees you saved by using recycled paper?

(1) Multiply the number of trees needed to make a ton of the kind of paper you’re talking about, then

(2) multiply by the percent recycled content in the paper.

For example,

1 ton (40 cartons) of 30% post-consumer content copier paper saves 7.2 trees

1 ton of 50% post-consumer content copier paper saves 12 trees.

How Much Oxygen Does One Tree Produce?

oxygen of one tree
2 peoples can breath with oxygen one tree produce

One tree produce more oxygen that they use it up. And another good thing is that tree can absorb carbon dioxide at a rate of 48 lbs./year.

One mature tree release enough oxygen back into the atmosphere to support 2 human beings. So, 2 mature trees can provide enough oxygen for a family of four.
